The Excretory System
Overview
The Excretory System, which is responsible for the disposal of wastes produced by cellular respiration, is in charge of excretion in the human body.  The Excretory System maintains homeostasis by removing toxic cellular wastes from the body so cellular respiration can continue to occur, and by preventing these wastes from accumulating in large enough quantities where they would begin to hurt the organism producing them.

The Excretory System interacts with the respiratory system by filtering out carbon dioxide from the blood and then sending it to the lungs for removal. through exhalation. The Excretory System also interacts with the circulatory system by filtering out other metabolic wastes from the blood, which prevents these wastes from building up in toxic amounts. These wastes are then sent to other areas of the Excretory System, where they are eventually removed from.

REMEMBER:
Egestion, the disposal of solid wastes from the human body, is not controlled by the excretory system.
